(A Shift in) Perspective

Sometimes, every once in a while, I see the world from a different perspective. This usually depends on various things like my routine, my mental health, my friends, my job… the things that influence me. The once mundane aspects of life suddenly, temporarily even, become curiosities.

Goodness, it’s moments like these that I feel like I feel most alive. Moments like these make me feel as though anything is possible. Possible in the sense of realistic possibilities. In the way of: “this world is not as [fill in struggle] as I think it is inside my head”.

This shift in perspective brings a rush too. I cannot help but feel like you know what I’m talking about. I think this feeling usually occurs after doing something new for the first time, or after doing something we find a bit scary. We are definitely still aware how big the struggle is, and it for sure still is a struggle, but after overcoming such a thing we slowly build the confidence (in ourselves). This rush also will only last but a matter of moments. As for the shift in perspective: its novelty will fade and we will be stuck with the perspective for another while.

Until we, again, try something different, do something for the first time, go out of our way to get there.
